Litigation over current operations of the RMI quarry
Issues related to Rocky Mountain Industrials’ current quarry operations are the subject of three lawsuits.

This case, over BLM’s withholding of documents about mine operations, limestone sales and permit enforcement actions, was filed on February 15, 2024, in U.S. District Court in Denver.

This case, over BLM enforcement of mining permit regulations, was filed on March 10, 2020, in U.S. District Court in Denver.
Rocky Mountain Industrials Inc. v. Garfield County
RMI filed lawsuits against Garfield County in May 2019 in both federal and state courts. The federal court case was stayed while action proceeded in state court.
Garfield County prevailed in its defense, winning a Garfield District Court ruling in January 2021 and a motion for summary judgment in June 2021. RMI appealed the ruling in August 2021. In February 2023, the Colorado Court of Appeals affirmed the District Court’s ruling.
